Al Ain University Participates in the First UAE Libraries Forum

Al Ain University participated in the First UAE Libraries Forum, organized by the Emirates Libraries and Information Association under the title Libraries and Information Institutions: Future
Practices and Challenges. The event was held in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority. The AAU was represented at the forum by Dr. Abdoulaye Kaba, Director of Khalifa Library. The forum's sessions addressed vital topics such as heritage protection and intellectual property, in addition to discussing literary and creative
production. The challenges facing libraries in the era of smart societies were also covered. The forum included the presentation of successful experiences in the field of digital transformation in
libraries and information centers, which helps enhance the efficiency of library services and meet the needs of society.
The events accompanying the forum also witnessed the organization of a manuscript exhibition and another exhibition featuring companies that provide services and projects in the field of libraries and information, which gave participants the opportunity to explore the latest innovations and trends in this field. This forum comes within the framework of the Emirates Libraries and Information Association’s efforts to enhance the role of libraries in the Emirati community and develop their services in line with the requirements of the modern era, which contributes to the advancement of culture and knowledge in the country.
