Bachelor of Science in “CYBERSECURITY” New program for Engineering Students

Starting from the new academic year 2019-2020, Al Ain University offers a new program in the College of Engineering which is the Bachelor of Science in CYBERSECURITY in its both campuses, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, said “The bachelor of science in CYBERSECURITY is one of the unique programs required by the labor market and we at Al Ain University work hardly to improve the education sector and develop national competencies to meet the aspirations of the UAE leadership and to keep pace with the tremendous development witnessed by the UAE in the electronic and technological sector.
Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, said that offering this program came in line with the University's strategy to keep pace with the latest developments in the education market by offering a variety of academic programs at the bachelor's and master's levels, in addition to providing a comprehensive academic environment that competes locally and internationally.
Students who would like to study in the CYBERSEURITY program are required to obtain a UAE secondary school certificate or its equivalent approved by the Ministry of Education in the UAE with a minimum average of 60%, in addition to, a valid English Language Proficiency score of at least 500 in TOFEL, or 5 band in IELTS. Also, students must successfully complete 123 credit hours, including 12 weeks’ internship, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2 out of 4.
Dr. Qutaiba Al Thebyan, Dean of the College of Engineering, said that after graduation, students will be able to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the program’s student outcomes and to the discipline, analyze a problem and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution.
It is worth to mention that; the Bachelor of Science in CYBERSECURITY allows the graduates to work as Cybersecurity Analyst, Cybersecurity Project Manager, Cybersecurity Researcher, Cybersecurity Administrator, Cybersecurity Software Developer, Cybersecurity Consultant, and etc.
