As part of the AAU’s engagement in community activities, Ms. Seham Kora, faculty member at the College of Education, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, arranged for a group of faculty members and students of the “Science and Life” course, to attend The First Arabian Gulf Public Health Research Conference organized by the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) under the slogan “Interventions for a Healthier Life”.
The conference focused on many health topics, including preventive measures for heart disease, stroke, obesity-related diseases, diabetes, and chronic disease as well as programs that have been applied for the prevention of diabetes in addition to public awareness campaigns to combat the use of tobacco in the United Arab Emirates. The conference promotes and supports the role of scientific research in the field of public health due to the spread of many diseases, namely diabetes and obesity.
